WHO ARE YOU?

THE POWER IN OUR ROOTS

swaziland girl following their culture

Here we are again, together, better than the last, united as never been apart, all races, all languages and all colors all unique but the same. We are gathered here again to remind each other of who we are, gods beautiful rainbow crawling insects. No wonder we are called the rainbow nation, Seems as if all that drove us apart then has brought us together once again.

the zulu culture

Throughout our disagreements and differences we are still growing stronger each day, we are still the bravest of our own kind, as we manage to carry our culture beliefs and traditions till this day after so many have donated theirs and adopted others. We are still the smartest as we are not afraid to show where we come from, who we are and not afraid to dress up and proudly say I am a true African. We are still growing better and better every day as we are not afraid to approach the impossible and we are definitely still the leaders of our mankind.

Throughout this whole time, all this years we have survived storms, hurricanes, wars and globalization changes and trends, they all failed to change the beautiful people we are, these is who we are, what we eat, our life and what and who we will forever be and who we will remain. We do not need to be afraid to be us, and to be proud of our ancestors
Today if you are who you are and not afraid to show it off,  Here is a glass of traditional beer a toast to all our cultures, now raise your clans name and truly say I AM AN AFRICAN AND I WILL CELEBRATE MY CULTURE AND SHALL NEVER FORGET WHERE I COME FROM.
YOU CAN TAKE A PERSON OUT OF HIS OR HER OWN CULTURE BUT YOU CANNOT TAKE THE CULTURE OUT OF HER OR HIM.

HAPPY HERITAGE DAY TO EVERYONE

  2. i will to disagree with you on that part when you say even globalisational change and trends couldnt change us.. well the truth is it did. look how many americans we hav now in africa.. there way they dress and the way some of them talk. hasnt that change? seems to me that we have adopted everything of theirs.

    1. people have actually turned everythiong around when people go to church or funerals its like they are going to a party or important function. people have lost the sence and value of culture ans so did their culture...

    2. yes we have adopted most of their trends but that shouldnt or has not changed who and what we are. yes to some other people it has but there are still those who strongly believe in their roots. and as for those who are lost this day is actually dedicated to them, inorder for them to realise that they dont really belong where they are. instead they should just return to their homes

  3. have you notice how many people still follow their culture... look at funerals and churches. seems as we have changed everything of our culture and turned it into something else but as for the rest of us who still celebrate our cultures we need more days to celebrate our cultures because one day is not enough. believe it or not after this mounth most of them will forget what this mounth was ever about.

    1. that very few is enough because if we all give up because everyone has, who shall we be tomorrow? this one day is not used to celebrate your culture but to remind and reconsile the value of all our different cultures.people have the right to wear the way they please but we also do not need to follow those do we?

  4. to be honest with you people have lost who and what their cultures are. look at what our leaders are doing president jacob zuma has more than one wife and call it culture, king mswati iii has 13 wives and is still not afraid to stand and say its our culture.so do you still thinjk we know what culture is?

    1. maybe some of the people have but you shouldnt as well, as for our leaders they have took our cultures flip them all around to fit their own needs and yes this has a great effect on the youth but the bottom line is staying true to your self and respecting the values that comes with our cultures.

    1. true that but to be honest it doesnt have to be like that. we as people we need to learn to respect ourselves. partys shouldnt be about regrets the next day but joy that you really had fun, relaxed or whatever you mission was.
